In 1995, founder Marc Shudnow bought a fixer-upper in Chicago and learned the hard way how difficult it could be to find contractors who communicated clearly, charged fairly, and actually did what they promised.
That experience became the foundation for decades of hands-on home work, inspection experience, and a commitment to doing right by homeowners.
A Fixer-Upper Changed Everything.
After being taken advantage of by contractors, Marc began learning how to make repairs himself. What started out of necessity became decades of hands-on experience working with homes.
Marc later became a home inspector, giving him another perspective that still influences how we approach projects today: look beyond the surface, understand what is causing the problem, and build or repair with the long term in mind.
